Leave it to Seth Godin to nail it. The concept of labelling yourself with something you are not definitely does seem silly.  Perhaps it’s time for a new name for the sector that emphasizes something that they are – perhaps Change Agents,  Advocates, Guardians – hmm, something will come.   Any ideas?

In many ways he is right on the money – however, I do believe there are a few NFP’s using social media very effectively.   Care to name a few?

Non as in non-profit.

The first issue is the way you describe yourself. I know what you’re not but what are you?

Did you start or join this non-profit because of the non part? I doubt it. It’s because you want to make change. The way the world is just isn’t right or good enough for you… there’s an emergency or an injustice or an opportunity and you want to make change.
